Party Bus Sizes Sydney – What Size Bus Do You Need

Group sizes rarely land neatly on a bus size. This page maps how many people you actually have to the bus that fits them, using the seven buses in our Sydney fleet. Every seat count below is the passenger capacity, not seats including the driver.

Common group sizes, answered honestly

A 25 seater party bus

We do not run a 25 seater. For a group of 25 the 40 Seat Dance Floor Bus is the one to take, and the extra floor space is the point rather than a compromise: 25 people on a 40 seat bus have room for the dance floor to actually get used. If your group is 24 or fewer, the 24 Seat Limo Bus is the tighter, more luxurious fit.

A 30 person party bus

Thirty people sit comfortably on either the 40 Seat Dance Floor Bus or the 42 Seat Karaoke Bus. Choose the dance floor bus if the group wants to be up and moving, and the karaoke bus if you would rather have microphones and a screen. Both carry 30 with seats to spare.

A 40 passenger party bus

The 40 Seat Dance Floor Bus is built for exactly this. Forty passengers, a proper dance floor, extreme loud DJ speakers, wrapped windows for privacy and a personalised LED sign board on the front.

A 50 passenger party bus

Our largest single bus seats 44, so a group of 50 travels on two buses. In practice that often works out better than one enormous coach: the group splits across a 44 seat limo bus and a smaller one, both arrive together, and nobody is left standing. Call us with your numbers and we will work out the pairing and the pricing.

A 10 person party bus

The 13 Seat Party Bus is the smallest in the fleet and the right call for ten. It is the easiest to get down narrow suburban streets, and it still carries the laser lights, LED party lighting and sound system the bigger buses have.

How to pick, in one line

Count your group, add two or three for the people who say yes at the last minute, then take the next bus up. Nobody has ever complained about having a bit more room on the way home.

Not sure which one suits your night? Call +61 468 147 270 and tell us the numbers, the occasion and the pick-up suburb. You can also see all seven buses with full specifications on the fleet page.

Why the seat count is not the whole answer

A bus rated for 20 passengers seats 20 people. It does not comfortably hold 20 people plus their coats, bags, eskies and a night's worth of moving around. Two groups of the same size can need different buses depending on what the night looks like.

When to size up

If your group lands within one or two people of a bus's capacity, take the next size. The extra room is usually a small difference in price and a large difference in how the night feels. The one case for sizing down is a short, seated transfer where the group is fixed and nobody is carrying anything.

Groups larger than 44

Forty-four passengers is the largest single bus in our fleet. Above that we run two buses together on the same route, leaving and arriving at the same times. It is a common arrangement for school formals and larger weddings, and it usually works better than trying to squeeze one bus.

Questions about sizing

Does the seat count include the driver?

No. Every number on this page is passenger capacity. The driver is additional.

We are 21 people - what do we book?

A 24 seat limo bus. Twenty-one on a 20 seat bus does not work, and the 24 gives you the spare room you will want.

Can we add people after booking?

Tell us as soon as you know. If the new number exceeds the bus you booked we will move you up if a larger bus is free for your date.

Which bus has a dance floor?

The 40 Seat Dance Floor Bus. The 42 Seat Karaoke Bus has the karaoke setup, and the 20 and 44 seat limo buses have limo seating and a mini bar. All seven are listed on our buses.
